HISTOWN HIP-HOP COMPANY CLASS

Histown’s Hip Hop Company is for dancers ages 12 and up who are passionate about hip hop and using it to glorify God and minister to others. This is an opportunity for students to grow specifically in hip hop technique and performance in a more intensive environment as well as grow in their faith alongside other dancers! Dancers will be challenged in style and choreography, grow in community, learn how to integrate faith and performance, and demonstrate servant leadership. Hip Hop is a powerful dance made up of many different movements and styles. We are excited to see God move with power and authority through the movements and actions of this group. Throughout the semester, the hip hop company will work on a piece to perform in the recital and for a video shoot.

Hip Hop Company goes alongside with our other company programs. All company dancers and parents sign a company commitment form to uphold company requirements. Hip hop company is invitation only, and dancers are invited that have not only excelled in technique, but also have consistently demonstrated great work ethic, a positive attitude, and commitment to Christ.

Hip Hop Company meets Monday nights from 7:30pm-8:30pm. Ms. Mattie is the teacher. The requirement for being in Hip Hop Company includes being enrolled in at least two other classes with at least one of them being a hip-hop class, and the recommendation/approval of our hip-hop teacher. Regular tuition fees apply for enrolling in the Hip Hop Company. Company members also get the opportunity to perform at events outside of our recitals and choreograph and perform a solo/senior piece their graduating year of high school in our May recital.
